Not everyone knows that on any one of those cold Canberra nights more than 100 people are sleeping without a roof over their head.
Not everyone knows that many of these homeless are families with children.
The Vinnies CEO Sleepout is an annual event run by the St Vincent de Paul Society to help raise awareness of homelessness by encouraging top business leaders to sleep rough for one night. CEOs and Managing Directors receive sponsorship from employees, colleagues, friends and family. The funds raised go to support homeless initiatives across Australia.
