$1.5m Lanyon community hub expansion to grow Foodbank

ACT Minister for Community Services Joy Burch today turned the first sod of extensions to the YWCA Mura Lanyon Youth and Community Centre and announced that the expanded area would be used to establish an outlet for the distribution of food from Australia’s biggest distributor of food donations.

New $1.7m seniors centre for Tuggeranong

A new community centre for older Canberrans located in the heart of Tuggeranong was officially opened today by ACT Minister for Community Services Joy Burch.
 
“The ACT Government is investing significant resources to ensure older residents have the services and facilities they deserve including new social housing and community facilities,”
 Ms Burch said.

Puppet show a class act for early childhood students

ACT Minister for the Arts, Joy Burch, today visited Isabella Plains Early Childhood School where creativity is being nurtured through the Artists-in-Schools program.
 
“The children at Isabella Plains Early Childhood School are having a valuable opportunity to develop their learning capacity through working with an artist,” Ms Burch said.

Kambah Village community engagement display
